San Marcos, Texas – Following a seven-day break, the Texas State men's basketball team will be back in action Saturday afternoon at 4:00 p.m., in Monroe, La., to take on ULM at Fant-Ewing Coliseum. It begins a two-game roadtrip for the Bobcats who will go to Lafayette following the game.
In its last contest, down 51-39 with 11:18 to go, Texas State started a 22-10 run over the next six minutes, to tie the game at 61-61, before falling in the final minutes. Reid Koenen led the charge, as he scored 12 of his 16 second half points during the run. He mixed in two three-pointers and attacked the rim, going 4-for-4 from the free throw line in the second half, part of a 15-for-19 effort overall by Texas State.
The Bobcats are in search of their first true road win of the season. Texas State previously won two neutral court games at the Cure UCD Classic in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
ULM begins this week with a record of 4-5, after winning its conference opener last Saturday in overtime against Lafayette 103-98. The game is the first home conference game of the season for the Warhawks.
The game will be available on KTSW 89.9 FM and www.txstatebobcats.com. Tip is scheduled for 4:00 p.m., but may be adjusted depending on the length of the women's game which begins at 2:00 p.m. There will be 30 minutes between games.
