Bobcats Host Long Island Monday

– Texas State will host Long Island in its final tune up before Sun Conference play begins, Monday evening at 7:00 p.m., at Strahan Coliseum. It is the third meeting in four years between the Bobcats and Blackbirds.

In their last game, the Bobcats beat UT Tyler 73-54 on Dec. 21. Emani Gant recorded his first career double-double with 16 points and tied a career-high with 12 rebounds. Gant is currently second in the Sun Belt with a field goal percentage of .615 (56-of-91).

Along with Gant, three other Bobcats scored in double figures against the Patriots, including Wes Davis and Phil Hawkins who also had 16, tying for the team-high.

Long Island has made the NCAA Tournament each of the last three years. This season the Blackbirds come in with an identical record as the Bobcats at 4-8.
