Moscow, Idaho –
Behind a strong passing attack from Tyler Jones and his complement of receivers the Texas State football team bowl eligible this season, in just its second year in the FBS, beating Idaho 37-21, Saturday afternoon at the Kibbie Dome in Moscow, Idaho.

The Bobcats used a team effort to get the job done, but perhaps no play will be more remembered than the one right before halftime. With six seconds to go from the Idaho four yardline, Jones threw a back-shoulder fade to Isaiah Battle who made a one-handed grab in the back corner of the endzone to make it 23-14 in favor of Texas State headed into halftime.

The third quarter was marked by three fourth down conversions. First, Idaho went for it on 4th-and-5 from its own 38, on its opening possession but came up short. On the ensuing possession, Texas State converted a 4th-and-one from the Idaho 29 and Tim Gay got it. A few plays later it was 4th-and-1 again from the Vandals' 20 yardline and Gay again ran around right end, for a 20-yard touchdown to make it 30-14 in favor of the Bobcats.

Midway through the fourth, the Bobcats put it away, as Jones used play action on 3rd-and-8 to connect with a streaking Terrence Franks down the sideline for a 67-yard touchdown, putting the Bobcats up 37-14.

The game started out on the right note for the Bobcats as Idaho turned the ball over on its first possession of the game as Aaron Matthews recovered an errant screen pass as a fumble giving Texas State the ball at the Vandal 28. A few plays later it was Robert Lowe, with his first of two touchdowns on the afternoon to put the Bobcats up 7-0.

Texas State will now have its second bye week of the season. Following the bye, the Bobcats will head to Jonesboro, Ark., to take on Arkansas State on Nov. 16.
