Final Results
Cabo San Lucas – Texas State junior, Tyler Thomas finished in second place on Tuesday, at the Cabo del Sol Intercollegiate in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. The finish for Thomas is the best by a Texas State golfer this season and the best of his career.
Thomas improved each day of the event, going 74-73-70 over the three rounds. His one-over-par finish is the best of his career, as well as his 54-hole score of 217. Tuesday's round marked the second consecutive final round, he has gone low at, after shooting another 70 in the third round of the Mark Simpson Invitational a few weeks ago.
As a team Texas State shot 298 for the day and 899 for the week.
The Bobcats will now have two weeks before playing at the Herb Wimberley Intercollegiate at New Mexico State. That is an event Texas State has historically done well at, including breaking the 54-hole team scoring record a year ago.
