Bobcats Try to Wrangle Mavericks

Game Notes

SAN MARCOS
, Texas – Texas State welcomes UT Arlington to Strahan Coliseum for a midweek match this week at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. The Bobcats dropped the season's first meeting in five sets and UTA is on a role with four consecutive victories including one over second place team UALR.

The Mavericks, 8-3 in conference play, currently sit third in the Sun Belt Conference standings but Texas State is right behind them in fourth with a conference record of 6-5, just two games behind. With the final three weeks of the regular season upon us, every match is vitally important to conference tournament seeding.

As the last meeting between these two teams went to five sets, Texas State has played plenty of extra set matches this season. The last seven matches have all gone at least four sets with five of them going the distance. In five-set matches this season, Texas State is 2-5.

The Bobcats have proved to be a tough out this season though, only being swept once by first place Western Kentucky back on Oct. 4. If anyone is going to beat the Bobcats, they'll have to do it the tough way.

UT Arlington has only played seven matches on the road this season with a 4-3 record, but the team's last two wins have come on the road. The Bobcats, meanwhile, are 9-3 at Strahan Coliseum so far this season and have won their last two in San Marcos.
