Game Notes
SAN MARCOS, Texas – After three matches on the road, Texas State returns home for a four-match home stand. The first two matches of the home stand will be Friday at 6:30 p.m. against Arkansas State and Sunday at 1 p.m. against UALR, a team tied for first in the Sun Belt Conference. Texas State's match against Arkansas State is also the Bobcats' Pink Out match to help raise funds and awareness for breast cancer.
Â
Fans wearing pink will gain admission for just $3 while there will also be a silent auction starting at 5 p.m. All of the proceeds will go toward a Hays Country organization called Pink Heals. For more information, click

Â
As for the volleyball, Texas State faces two teams it hasn't seen in quite some time. The Bobcats haven't played Arkansas State since 2003, a 3-1 loss. The Red Wolves hold a 4-1 all-time advantage over Texas State. Meanwhile, the Bobcats beat UALR in the only meeting between the teams, but that match took place back in 1992.
Â
Arkansas State and Texas State are both tied in conference standings with matching 3-2 records while the Bobcats trail UALR, which sits atop the conference with Western Kentucky with a 5-0 record.
Â
The Trojans of UALR boast the best offensive player in the conference in outside hitter Edina Begic. She has won Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week a record five consecutive times. She should put libero
Sierra Smith to work, but she'll be up to the challenge. The sophomore set a new Texas State record Wednesday night with 37 digs in a match, breaking the previous record of 36 set in 1995 by Lucretia Hamilton and repeated by Kacey Wimpy in 2006.
