History Versus UTSA
Texas State and UTSA will be playing for the 63rd time when they meet on Friday. The Bobcats won the first 20 matches between the two schools between 1983 and 1992 before the Roadrunners got their first series win. UTSA's longest winning streak in the series was four matches between 2001 and 2002, while Texas State has five winning streaks of at least four matches since the two teams began playing. Of late, Texas State has won 8 of its last 10 matches with UTSA.
Matches Last Season
The three-match series between Texas State and UTSA a season ago began with the Roadrunners sweeping the Bobcats in San Marcos to start the Southland Conference season. Texas State would win its next 13 consecutive SLC matches to set up a rematch with UTSA, which was also 13-1 at the time, in San Antonio. The Bobcats were victorious in four sets to clinch the Southland Conference regular season title. The two teams then met for a third time in the Southland Conference Tournament finals, where the Bobcats again won in four sets to claim the tournament crown and a place in the NCAA Championships.

Senior setter Caleigh McCorquodale has more career assists than any other active player in the WAC. McCorquodale's 2,399 career helpers are 81 more than Idaho's Jenny Feicht, who has the second most. Junior middle blocker Ashlee Hilbun is also near the top of the list for blocks for active players in the WAC. Hilbun's 260 career blocks are the fourth most of any current player, with all three players above her being seniors.

The Bobcats have won their last three I-35 Rivalry Series matches against UTSA at the Convocation Center in San Antonio.
Last Week Recap
Texas State opened up WAC play for the first time ever with a four-set victory over San Jose State at Strahan Coliseum. The historic win was the first for the school as a member of the WAC. The team then played Utah State on Saturday in its second WAC match, falling in three sets to the team projected fourth in the WAC Preseason Poll to fall to 1-1 in conference this season.
