Versus San Jose State

Texas State will be taking on San Jose State for the first time ever when the two teams square off in the WAC opener for both teams on Thursday.

Versus Utah State

The Bobcats will play Utah State for the fourth time in the program's history on Saturday, looking to even the all-time series after entering the match with a 1-2 record against the Aggies. Texas State visited Logan, Utah last year for the Utah State Invitational and narrowly fell to the host-Aggies in five sets. Prior to that, the Bobcats had played Utah State at its home court in 2003 in which Texas State fell in four sets. The first match-up between the two teams was in 1990 when the team's played at the Whataburger Classic in Arlington, with the Bobcats sweeping the match in three sets.

Against WAC Opponents

Texas State has a combined 85-62 all-time record against 2012 WAC opponents.

First WAC Match

Thursday's match against San Jose State will mark the first WAC contest for any sport at Texas State this season.

Conference Openers

Texas State has won four of its last five conference openers with the team's only loss during that span coming in 2011 against UTSA.

Second And Third Sets

Texas State is a perfect 4-0 in matches when the team wins the second set and 5-0 in matches when the team wins the third set.

SMU Invitational All-Tournament Team

Sophomore outside hitter Alexandra Simms was named to her second consecutive all-tournament team for her performance at the SMU Doubletree Invitational. Simms hit over .300 in each of the team's three matches for the weekend and led the team in kills against both SMU and Wichita State, including tying her career high with 13 kills against the Shockers.
