San Marcos, Texas The Texas State men's basketball team continues play at home on Wednesday when Oral Roberts comes to town. Tip-off versus the Golden Eagles is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Series

Oral Roberts owns a 2-1 lead in the all-time series, which began on Jan. 17, 1987. Wednesday will be the second time Oral Roberts has played Texas State in San Marcos.

Scouting Texas State

Texas State enters Wednesday's contest with a 3-4 record. The Bobcats look to rebound from a five-point loss to Utah on Friday night. Junior transfer Joel Wright leads Texas State with an average of 15.4 points per game; which ranks him sixth in the league in scoring. Senior forward Matt Staff is ranked eighth in scoring (15.1 ppg) and has a team-high six double figure scoring games. The Bobcats are averaging 74.9 points per game. Texas State is 2-2 so far this season at home.

Scouting Oral Roberts

Warren Niles is the Golden Eagles leading scorer with an average of 20.9 points per game. Niles ranks sixth in the nation in three-point field goal percentage (.556). Three ORU players average double digits. As a team the Golden Eagles average 67.8 points per game. ORU is on a one-game win streak after a 72-52 triumph over Missouri State. The Golden Eagles are 2-1 on the road this season, and 3-3 away from home.

February 19, 1995 – Oral Roberts 81, Texas State 65  

Texas State was called, Southwest Texas State. The Bobcats were coached by Mike Miller. Bill Self was the coach of ORU. The Golden Eagles went on a 21-2 run in the first half, en route to an 81-65 victory.
