San Marcos, Texas – The Texas State men's basketball team returns to San Marcos for a three-game home stand. The Bobcats welcome Pac 12 opponent Utah to Strahan Coliseum on Friday, Nov. 30. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
Series
Utah owns a 1-0 lead in the all-time series, which began on Nov. 18, 2005. Friday will be the first time Utah has ever played Texas State in San Marcos.
Scouting Texas State
Texas State enters Friday's contest with a 3-3 record. The Bobcats most recently played in the Great Alaska Shootout, where they finished, 1-2. Junior transfer Joel Wright leads Texas State with an average of 15.2 points per game. Fellow big man Matt Staff has a team-high five double figure scoring games and seven blocked shots. Sophomore Wesley Davis is ranked 21st in the nation in steals per game (2.83), while the Bobcats are averaging 75.8 points per game. Texas State is 2-1 so far this season at home.
Scouting Utah
Utah will play at SMU on Wednesday night, before traveling to San Marcos. Dallin Bachynski has been the leading scorer for the Utes with an average of 13.2 points per game. Bachynski leads a quartet of Utes that are averaging double figures, while Utah is outscoring its opponents by an average of 18.6 ppg.

November 18, 2005 – Utah 74, Texas State 59
Brandon Bush led Texas State with 15 points, while Jushay Rockett had seven points, seven rebounds, and three assists. Johnnie Bryant led the Utes with 21 points, while Bryant Markson added 19 points. Texas State edged Utah on the boards, 33-32. The Utes held a 30-28 lead at the half. The Bobcats shot 41.5 percent (22-53) from the floor, and 62.5 percent (10-16) from the free throw line.
