Versus Opponents This Week
Texas State will head to Ruston, La., for its second meeting with Louisiana Tech this season. Earlier this season, the Bobcats swept the Lady Techsters at Strahan Coliseum as Amari Deardorff led the team with 12 kills and a .345 hitting percentage. Ashlee Hilbun added nine kills and eight digs, while Caylin Mahoney paced the team with 18 assists to go along with seven kills. The Bobcats will then look for its fourth consecutive victory over UT Arlington on Saturday. When the two teams met earlier this season, the team hit .294 collectively, led by a 16-kill, .455 performance from Deardorff.
Offensive Weapon
Setter Caylin Mahoney has become a steady contributor not only distributing the ball, but also putting it away. Over the team's last five matches, the sophomore is averaging 4.70 assists per set and 1.70 kills per set. She had a career-best 11 kills against UTSA and followed up that performance with nine kills and a .533 hitting percentage against Seattle. During that span, she has also led the team in assists in every match.
Tournament Berth Clinched
The Bobcats have clinched their spot in the eight-team 2012 WAC Tournament that will be hosted by UTSA in San Antonio. The team is currently tied for sixth place in the WAC standings.
Offensive Efficiency
In the team's victory over Seattle U last Thursday, the Bobcats hit a season-high .328 for the match led by a season-high .571 percentage from Ashlee Hilbun, who also led the team with 12 kills on 21 swings. Caylin Mahoney hit .533 with nine kills on 15 attempts, while Molly Ahrens (.364), Amari Deardorff (.357) and Brooke Smith (.333) all hit above .300 for the match.

Texas State has not lost a conference match this season when winning the first or second set.
Last Week Recap
Texas State cruised to a victory over Seattle U last Thursday, putting together the team's most efficient offensive performance of the season on the team's annual pink match. The team was not able to duplicate the effort against Idaho on Saturday when the Bobcats fell in three sets to third-place Idaho. The loss was just the second at home this season for Texas State and snapped a four-match home winning streak.
