Notes

Versus UTSA

Texas State and UTSA will be playing for the 64th time when they meet on Saturday. The Bobcats won the first 20 matches between the two schools between 1983 and 1992 before the Roadrunners got their first series win. UTSA's longest winning streak in the series was four matches between 2001 and 2002, while Texas State has five winning streaks of at least four matches since the two teams began playing. Of late, Texas State has won 8 of its last 11 matches with UTSA. Earlier this season, UTSA swept the Bobcats when the two teams played in San Antonio.

Matches Last Season

The three-match series between Texas State and UTSA a season ago began with the Roadrunners sweeping the Bobcats in San Marcos to start the Southland Conference season. Texas State would win its next 13 consecutive SLC matches to set up a rematch with UTSA, which was also 13-1 at the time, in San Antonio. The Bobcats were victorious in four sets to clinch the Southland Conference regular season title. The two teams then met for a third time in the Southland Conference Tournament finals, where the Bobcats again won in four sets to claim the tournament crown and a place in the NCAA Championships.

Career Highs

A couple of Bobcat middle blockers posted career highs in the team's 3-2 win over New Mexico State last Saturday. Junior Ashlee Hilbun had 16 kills to pace the offense, while sophomore Molly Ahrens finished with 11 blocks defensively.

Second Set Success

The Bobcats have not lost a match this season when winning the second set. The team is 8-0 in matches when winning set two.

Blocking Importance

Texas State has not lost a match in conference (4-0) when finishing with more blocks than its opponent.

The team's trip ended at San Jose State where the team fell in three sets.
