San Marcos, Texas – With the last week of conference play set to go, Texas State will begin its week at Lamar on Wednesday, March 2. Tip off at the Montagne Center is slated for 7 p.m. The Bobcats are tied for first-place overall in the league and hold the top position in the west division. Texas State has a 10-4 record, while the Cardinals are in tenth place with a 6-8 league record.

Scouting Texas State
Texas State (15-13, 10-4 SLC) continued its win streak at home by finishing the regular season 8-0 in conference play. The Bobcats capped home play with an 82-80 thrilling win over I-35 Rival UTSA. Texas State is led by team captains Cameron Johnson (13.3 ppg, 5.4 rpg) and Tony Bishop (12.3 ppg, 8.0 rpg); Texas State's top scorers and rebounders. Bishop posted his team-leading ninth double-double. Ryan White is also taking on a leadership role for Texas State as the senior guard is averaging 11.0 ppg and scored a career-high 25 points in the last outing. The Bobcats are shooting 45 percent from the field and averaging 78.5 points per game. Texas State averages 74.7 points per game on the road.
Scouting Lamar
Lamar (12-16, 6-8 SLC) is on a two-game losing streak after losses to Stephen F. Austin and Sam Houston State. The Cardinals are 3-4 at home in conference play this season with their last conference home win occurring on Feb. 19 in a 73-56 win over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. The Cardinals are led by Mike James who is averaging 11.9 ppg. Also averaging double digits are Anthony Miles (11.8 ppg) and Kendrick Harris 10.4 ppg). Devon Lamb is crashing the boards for Lamar with 8.1 rebounds per game. Lamar is averaging 81.3 points per game and 41.1 rebounds per game.

January 13, 2010 - San Marcos, Texas – The Texas State men's basketball team used a balance offensive attack and forced 23 turnovers to defeat Lamar 81-67 on Saturday, February 13 at Strahan Coliseum.
Cameron Johnson scored 19 points to lead Texas State as he was one of four Bobcats to score in double figures. Ryan White added 16 points and three assists despite playing most of the game with an ankle injury. Tony Bishop came off the bench to net 11 points and John Bowman added 10 for the Bobcats.
2011 State Farm Southland Conference Tournament
The 2011 State Farm Southland Conference Men's and Women's Basketball Tournament, which will be held March 8-12, at the Leonard E. Merrell Center in Katy, Texas. The tournament gets underway Tuesday, March 8 with all four women's quarterfinal games followed by the four men's quarterfinal games on Wednesday, March 9. The women's semifinals will be contested the afternoon of Thursday, March 10 and the two men's semifinal games will be that same night. The championship game of the women's tournament will be played Friday, March 11, at 7 p.m., and the men's championship will be held Saturday, March 12, at 3 p.m.
