San Marcos, Texas – The Texas State men's basketball team will host the University of Houston on Tuesday night, in game two of the scheduled doubleheader. The Bobcats, who are third in the nation in scoring, are on a 14-game home win streak at Strahan Coliseum. Tip-off is slated for approximately 6:00 p.m.
Series
Texas State hosts Houston for the 12th time in series history. Tuesday's game will be the first meeting between the two teams since, December 9, 2002. The Bobcats won that meeting, 68-59 at home.
Scouting Texas State
Texas State has the 11th-best home win streak in the country through the games of December 3. The Bobcats have 14 consecutive wins in Strahan Coliseum, dating back to December 31, 2010. The Bobcats latest home victory was a 103-76 win over Houston Baptist on Saturday. Texas State was led by Travis Jones who had a career-night with 23 points and 11 rebounds.
Texas State leads the SLC in scoring (88.4 ppg), field goal percentage (.478), 3-point percentage (.407) and steals (9.4 spg). Three of Texas State's top scorers are seniors. Eddie Rios is leading the pack with 13.3 ppg, followed by junior Matt Staff at 12.4 ppg. Seniors Brooks Ybarra and Travis Jones round out the top four in scoring with 11.4 ppg and 9.6 ppg., respectively.

Houston (4-3) snapped a three-game losing streak with an 87-66 win over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. The Cougars have lost three games this season by a total of five points. Five players are averaging double digit scoring for Houston. Alandise Harris leads all players with 16.7 ppg and 6.1 rpg.
