San Marcos, Texas – The Texas State volleyball team continues its string of games at Strahan Coliseum this week with a pair of Southland Conference matches on Thursday and Saturday. The Bobcats will look to keep their current nine-game winning streak alive as in-state foes Stephen F. Austin and Sam Houston State make the trip to San Marcos.
Entering the week, the Bobcats have an 18-6 overall record and 9-1 mark in Southland Conference play. The team is in second place in the Southland West Division behind undefeated UTSA with six conference games left to play.
Stephen F. Austin will bring a 12-13 overall record and 5-5 conference mark into Thursday's 6:30 p.m. match with the Bobcats. The Ladyjacks have won three of their last four SLC games with their one loss coming against Texas State two weeks ago. They are currently in fourth place in the Southland West Division.
Sam Houston State will visit UT Arlington on Thursday before coming to San Marcos for a 7 p.m. match on Saturday. Entering the week, the Bearkats have a 13-10, 7-3 SLC record and are in third place in the Southland West Division.

Texas State will look to extend is winning streak over Stephen F. Austin to eight games when the two teams meet on Thursday in San Marcos. The Bobcats defeated the Ladyjacks, 3-0, earlier this year in Nacogdoches. Texas State holds a 49-26-1 all-time record against Stephen F. Austin.

Senior Amber Calhoun hit .500 or above in both matches for last week, finishing with a .512 hitting percentage and 27 kills (3.38/set) to pace the team. She had 12 kills and a .526 hitting percentage against UT Arlington before putting down 15 kills with a .500 hitting percentage against Central Arkansas, tying her season high for kills and missing her career high by one. Calhoun has now recorded a .500 hitting percentage or better in four of her last five matches, all of which has reached double digits in kills. The senior led the team with 35 points scored for the week after also recording 14 blocks (1.75/set). She was also second in the voting for Southland Defensive Player of the Week after she had a career-high-tying 10 blocks against UCA and four blocks with eight digs earlier in the week against UTA.

As a team, Texas State not only leads the Southland Conference but ranks 14th in the nation in team hitting percentage at .265. The Bobcats also rank in the top-100 in the nation in aces per set (26th), kills per set (59th), assists per set (71st) and blocks per set (82nd).
