Chandler Hall (14-10) suffered the loss, despite allowing just four hits and fanning nine batters. Four different Bobcats recorded hits, but it was not enough as Texas State fell, 3-1, to UTSA.

UTSA began the bottom of the third inning with a leadoff walk by Nikki Goff. A sacrifice bunt by Kelly Cato pushed Goff to second base, before a single by Rudi Cantu advanced Goff to third. The Roadrunners tallied the first run of the game after a throwing error by the Bobcat catcher provided room at the plate for Goff to score.

A two-run single by UTSA pinch hitter Kristin Kappler in the bottom of the sixth, scored Caitlyn Ivy and Chelsey Chapman to improve the Roadrunners lead to 3-0.

Allyce Rother advanced to first base on an error by the shortstop to start the seventh inning for Texas State. With one out, Kristina Tello hit a shot to left field that fell out of the fielder's glove for a base hit. With a pair of runners on base, Haley Lemons reached on a fielder's choice, which gave room for Rother to score after an error by the second baseman.

Unfortunately, Texas State was unable to record any more runs dropping game one, 3-1.
