Michael Johnson Classic Results
WACO, Texas - William Taudien earned a first-place finish in the men's 800 meters, to lead Texas State at the Michael Johnson Classic on Saturday at the Hart-Patterson Track Complex.
Taudien won the men's 800 meters with a time of 1:53.94. Jack Petersen placed ninth recording a time of 1:56.80. For the women, Ryann Bradford raced to a time of 2:16.93 for tenth place.
Kevin Aje ran a time of 10.76 seconds in the 100-meter prelims to advance to the finals; where he finished in 10.75 seconds for fifth place in the finals.
Liat Anav and Jennie Thomas captured third and fourth place in the 400-meter hurdles. Anav clocked a time of 63.45, while Thomas finished in 63.55 seconds. Timothy Young grabbed an eighth place finish on the men's side, registering a time of 54.88.
Steffanie Armstrong recorded a time of 11:40.52 in the 3,000-meter steeple to earn a third place finish.
The women's 4x100-meter relay team of Latasha Maxwell, Renee Shepard, Morgan Canty and Iris Darrington finished ninth in 48.07 seconds.
Taylor Hubbard placed sixth in the javelin throw with a mark of 40.68 meters (133-05). Kelsey Titzman cracked the top 10 with a throw of 41.62 meters (136-06) in the hammer.
With just one leap in the triple jump, Jenna Lorentsen managed to grab tenth place in the event.
Valerie Hancock and Lisa Bingham tied for second place in the high jump, leaping to a height of 1.70 meters (5-07.00). Danessa Lyssy finished tied for seventh with a jump of 1.60 meters (5-03.00).
Katy Hanie earned a second place finish in the discus throw with a distance of 45.08 meters (147-11).
In the women's pole vault, Elena Horn tied for third matching her season best vault of 3.80 meters (12-05.50).
The men's pole vault, the 400m hurdles, 200 meters, 5,000 meters, and 4x400-meter relay were all suspended due to rain.
