SAN MARCOS - Laurn Randell and Kyle Kubitza each had a home run to complement Texas State's fiery offensive attack Sunday afternoon, and aided the team's 11-4 win over Central Arkansas at Bobcat Field to complete the three-game Southland Conference sweep.

The Bobcats remain atop the league standings with a 12-3 record and are now 20-10 on the season. The Bears are 3-12 in the league and 9-22 overall. Jason Martinson extended his hit streak to 18-straight games with a base hit through the right side and put the Bobcats on the board two plays later when back-to-back singles pushed him across the plate.

Texas State went ahead 7-0 in the third after working over starter Chase Huchingson with six hits. The Bobcats had runners on first and second when Jeff McVaney laced a single up the middle for an RBI and moved to second base on the throw in from centerfield. Tyler Sibley came behind with a two-run double to left center and fielder's choice coupled with a deep homer over the left centerfield wall from Laurn Randell sealed the six-run inning for the Bobcats.

UCA slowly worked its way back into the game with a pair of runs in the fourth and sixth, but Texas State kept the distance with a solo home run from Kyle Kubitza in the bottom half of the sixth and added two more runs in the seventh for a 10-4 lead.

The Bobcats final run scored in eighth on an RBI base hit from Bret Atwood to seal the win and complete the three-game sweep.

Lee Colon improved to 4-2 on the season after a 5.1 inning stint on the mound. The junior held UCA scoreless through three innings, surrendering just two hits. Colon closed out the day with one strikeout and allowed four runs off eight hits in the win.

Fielding Pittman, Jeff McVaney and Garret Carruth saw a combined 3.2 innings in relief and blanked UCA's offense in the time.

Huchingson took the loss for the Bears, going 2.2 innings and giving up seven runs off eight hits with a pair of walks. The left-hander is now 0-2 on the season.

Texas State's offense was led by Randell and Kubitza who each added three hits to the Bobcats 14-hit tally. In the three games against Central Arkansas this weekend, Randell batted .909 on a 10-for-11 effort with three home runs and six RBI.

Texas State returns to the diamond Tuesday night when they complete the two-game series with No. 6 Texas at UFCU Disch-Falk Field. First pitch is set for 6:05 p.m. against the Longhorns.
