Texas State registered five hits and five runs in the seventh inning to beat Nicholls 7-6 in a comeback victory. Allyce Rother went 3-for-3 with an RBI, while Elizabeth Dennis (1-3) picked up her first win of the season, allowing zero runs in 2.0 innings pitched.

Audrey Wood belted a three-run homer to right center in the first inning to give the Colonels their first runs of the day.

Texas State answered back in the bottom of the first with an RBI-single by Haley Lemons to left center, allowing Kristina Tello to score from second.

Wood was the base of the Colonels offense as she recorded her second homer of the day, this time to centerfield, driving in Megan Gaspard to put Nicholls up, 5-1. Ashton Bennett registered the last run of the day for the Colonels by knocking in Natalie Travasos with an RBI-single.

Relief pitcher Elizabeth Dennis entered the circle in the sixth inning and soon after the Bobcats began to see the momentum change in their favor.

An RBI-double by Allyce Rother in the bottom of the sixth inning drove in Jenna Emery to shorten the Colonels lead to four.

Pinch hitter Lacey Duncan began the Bobcats rally in the seventh with a lead-off single to centerfield. A walk by Kristina Tello advanced pinch runner Brooke Baker to second, putting the Bobcats in scoring position. Next, Anna Hernandez recorded a two-run double to centerfield to bring Texas State to within two with no outs. After a Bobcat groundout, Leah Boatright registered an RBI-single, followed by an RBI-double by McKenzie Baack that brought in the tying run. With a runner on second, Emery delivered the game-winning single, driving in Baack for the 7-6 comeback.

"We started swinging at strikes and that was the difference," said head coach Ricci Woodard. "We had a few long balls earlier in the game, but Lacey (Duncan) came up big with the hit to centerfield to start the inning and lead the rally."
