Waco, Texas - Texas A&M's Michael Wacha held Texas State scoreless in his four-inning stay on the mound, and snuffed out all hopes of a Bobcat comeback to deal the team a 6-2 loss Sunday night to close out the QTI Baylor Classic at Baylor Ballpark. Texas State drops its third-straight game in the loss and falls to 3-3 on the season. A&M improves to 5-2.

Brian Borski was handed tonight's loss, going seven innings on the mound. The junior allowed seven hits, four runs and two walks with four strikeouts on the night.

The Aggies got on the board first in the bottom of the second with a two-run homer and graduated to a 3-0 advantage in the third without any hits. Joe Patterson drew a lead-off walk, stole second base and two sacrifice fly balls carried the run across.

Texas State chased the lead with back-to-back scoring frames, adding a single run in the fifth and the sixth. Andrew Stumph dropped a base hit into shallow centerfield to open the fifth and Texas State roped two-straight shots to short to plate the freshman.

In the top of the sixth, Kyle Livingstone broke out with his third homerun of the season and Jason Martinson laced a single up the middle to put the tying run on base. Shaun Garcia attempted to bring in the run, but a diving catch from Brandon Wood gave the Aggies a double play, catching Martinson at second without tagging up, and leaving the Bobcats with just one out to play with in the inning. Fleece got Jordan Kopycinski to fly out to centerfield to close the sixth.

A&M responded with three runs spread across the seventh and eighth, including a home run from Kevin Gonzales to take the 6-2 lead, and eventually the game.

The Bobcats went three-up, three-down in the aforementioned frames, and left a runner stranded on second with two outs in the ninth, before dropping the decision.

Tyler Sibley, who was named to the QTI Baylor Classic All-Tournament team, went 3-for-4 with a single RBI to lead the team at the plate. Texas State collected nine hits against the Aggies.

Nick Fleece was credited with the win for Texas A&M, going five innings and holding the Bobcats to seven hits and two runs with four strikeouts. Wacha earned his first save of the season.

Texas State returns to the diamond Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m. when they host the Rice Owls in their 2010 home opener at Bobcat Field.
