Tempe, Az. - Texas State loss to Iowa this afternoon, 4-1, at the Littlewood Classic in Tempe, Az., hosted by Arizona State. The Bobcats fall to 1-5, as they return to the field at 3:30pm to play Illinois State.

Iowa got on the board first with a three-run homer by Chelsey Carmody in the first inning as the Hawkeyes took an early 3-0 lead.

Haley Lemons nipped Iowa's score a bit after hitting a two-out double down the left field line to drive in Chandler Hall for the score in the third inning. Texas State was unable to gather anymore runs, as they fell to Iowa, 4-1.

Allyce Rother was 2-for-3 from the plate, while Lemons is on a six-game hitting streak. Hall was the losing pitcher on the mound as she drops her record to, 1-3. Texas State finished the game with one run, on five hits and no errors.

Iowa was led by pitcher Amanda Zust (2-1), who allowed one earned run in seven innings. The Hawkeyes recorded five hits and four runs to improve their record to, 4-2.
