Men’s Basketball: Houston Baptist Preview

San Marcos, Texas - Texas State men's basketball will head to Houston for a match-up against Houston Baptist on Saturday, Dec. 4 at Sharp Gymnasium. Tip-off is slated for 7:35 p.m. This will be the second meeting between the two teams and the first since 1967.

Scouting Houston Baptist

Houston Baptist (0-6) is in search of its first win. The Huskies dropped a 61-63 decision to Southern Utah on Nov. 27. Dominating the scoring for the Huskies is Andrew Gonzalez, who is averaging 20.0 points per game. Houston Baptists as a team is only averaging 66.5 points per game.

Scouting Texas State

Texas State (2-3) is coming off a 77-81 loss to North Texas at home on Nov. 27.  The Bobcats led the majority of the game, but a late second half surge by the Mean Green, dealt the Bobcats their third loss of the season. Tony Bishop is leading Texas State in scoring and rebounding as the senior forward is averaging 14.2 points and 10.8 boards per game.
