San Marcos, Texas – Texas State men's basketball fell to visiting North Texas tonight at Strahan Coliseum. The Mean Green fought back from a 10-point halftime deficit to beat the Bobcats, 81-77. 
Ryan White led Texas State with 16 points, six rebounds and six assists. Tony Bishop and John Bowman added 12 points apiece, while A.J. Stewart also scored in double figures with 11 points.
A 3-pointer by Tristan Thompson with 2:18 left in the game tied everything up at 69-All. Bishop went 1-of-2 from the line to put Texas State up by one, but a pair of free throws by UNT's Thompson gave the Mean Green their first lead of the game since 17:49 in the first half. UNT went 8-of-8 from the charity stripe during the remaining minute to edge the Bobcats and come away with the road win.
Behind an eight-point performance by Jones, who was 3-of-4 from the field, including 2-of-3 from long range, Texas State took a 10-point lead into intermission, 38-28.
Texas State took the lead at 18:44 with a Bowman layup, but a 3-pointer by UNT's Josh White gave the Mean Green the edge for a brief moment as the two teams traded points over the next few possessions.
At the 13:40 mark, Johnson recorded a layup to give Texas State a two-point lead as the Bobcats never trailed again in the first half.
The difference maker in the game was UNT's 9-of-11 shooting from three-point range, including clutch treys in the second half.
Tristan Thompson led UNT with 23 points and Josh White added 21.
Texas State will hit the road next week, as it travels to Houston to play Houston Baptist on Saturday, Dec. 4 at 7:35 p.m.
