SAN MARCOS - After a scoreless 45 minutes of action, Britney Curry and Erica Michaud provided a hefty offensive attack that led the Texas State Bobcats to a 5-0 victory over Prairie View A&M Friday night at the Bobcat Soccer Complex.

Texas State improves to 5-5-0 with the victory and an even .500 record entering Southland Conference action next weekend.

The Bobcats took 12 shots in the first half and Panther goalkeeper Jessica Garcia had a stellar performance between the posts, recording four saves to keep the team off the board.

"The first half was lackadaisical," said head coach Kat Conner. "It looked like we came out thinking things were going to just happen for us, and we need to realize teams aren't going to roll over. We will have to fight for every win we get."

The undecided game quickly turned in the Bobcats favor shortly after the second period resumed. At 46:01, Curry took an unassisted ball straight to the net to break the silence and just one minute later caught Michaud eight yards out on a cross to give Texas State a 2-0 lead within a matter of minutes.

Michaud followed through with the charge in the 57th minute providing a cross to Kendall Webber just inside the box to tap in Texas State's third goal.

Michaud and Curry took the final pair of goal in the 58th and 62nd goal, respectively, to top off the night.

With Curry's final goal, the junior recorded her tenth goal of the season and the 31st of her career, a mark that ties the all-time career goals record at Texas State. Texas State will take a week off before SLC play begins. The Bobcats face Central Arkansas Oct. 2 in Conway to open the slate.
