ARLINGTON, Texas - The Texas State softball team beat UT Arlington 3-0 in the second game of its double header today. Taylor Hall continued to shine at the plate as she went 2-for-4 to help lead the Bobcats over the Lady Mavs. The Bobcats improve to 10-6, 2-0 SLC; the Lady Mavs fall to 4-10, 0-2 SLC.
Hall hit a single to shortstop to start off the first inning and stole second. A Lady Maverick error on a hit from McKenzie Baack sent Hall home.
Texas State got on board again in the sixth when Kristina Tello singled down the right field line driving in both Ryan Kos and Shekia Knight to give the Bobcats the 3-0 edge.
Texas State finished the game with three runs on four hits and two errors. UTA had three hits, one error and zero runs.
Katie Garnett tallies her fifth win on the mound, improving to 5-2 on the season. Garnett pitched 7.0 innings, allowing three hits, zero runs and didn't walk any batters.
Texas State returns to the field tomorrow at 2:00pm against UTA, before returning home to host McNeese State this weekend.
