BATON ROUGE, La. - Texas State softball drop a 2-0 decision to Northern Iowa in its second day of play at the Easton Purple and Gold Challenge at Louisiana State University. The Bobcats hit the field again at 2:00pm when they play LSU. The Bobcats fall to 7-5 on the season, ending a three-game win span. They are 1-1 in the tournament.
Northern Iowa got on the board first when Jen Larsen hit a two-run homer to left center, driving in Mackenzie Daigh for a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first for the Panthers.
The Bobcats were only able to tally one hit this morning as Jenna Emery slammed the ball to deep right field for a double; her third of the season. Emery finished 1-for-2 on the day after being hit by a pitch in the bottom of the seventh.
Texas State finished the game with one hit and one error. Chandler Hall was at the mound for the Bobcats, bringing her record to 3-2. Hall gave up five hits, two runs and tallied six strikeouts in the game.
