Less than a minute had ticked off the clock before Texas State scored its first goal, and the Bobcats never looked back, taking a 3-1 decision over the Nicholls Lady Colonels Friday afternoon at the NSU Soccer Complex.
Texas State remains unbeaten in Southland Conference action with a 5-0 record, 10-5 overall, while Nicholls falls to 0-4 in league play and 4-11-0 overall.
51 seconds into the first half, Britney Curry took an assist from Erica Michaud to net her 15th goal of the season.
In fighting fashion, the Lady Colonels answered back in the 17th minute with a goal from Kandice Champagne, and just thirty seconds later, Bobcat newcomer Taylor Kelley put Texas State back on top with an unassisted goal.
The Bobcats tacked on their final goal at 32:32, thanks to Erica Michaud, to seal the victory.
Texas State outshot Nicholls 23-7. Bobcat goalkeeper Mandi Mawyer recorded three saves in the decision.
Texas State will return to the soccer field Sunday afternoon when they take on unbeaten Southeastern Louisiana. The Lady Lions took a 3-0 decision over UTSA in tonight's meeting.
