Cross Country Competes at Texas A&M Invitational

SAN MARCOS - Texas State cross country competed at the Texas A&M Invitational. The meet was scheduled for last weekend, but was rescheduled due to Hurricane Ike.

The Bobcats sent their top performers to the meet to compete.

Tenley Determan was the top finisher on the women's side as she finished in 27th place leading the Bobcats to a seventh place finish. Tenley finished the 5k course in a time of 18:34.42. Heather Bullin was the second runner for Texas State to cross the line in as she finished in a time of 18:44.97. Amanda McKinney, Sandra Venagas and Whitney Perkins rounded out the top five.

On the men's side Jon Hernandez was the top finisher completing the 8k race in a time of 26:05.12. Michael Morris finished in 40th place with a time of 26:49.48. The next three finishers for the Bobcats were Hugo Corral, Michael Richards and Eric Pedrosa.

The cross country teams will be back in action next weekend as they travel to the Incarnate Invitational in San Antonio on Sept. 26.
