The Texas State women's tennis team defeated Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 4-1 Saturday at Corpus Christi Country Club. The Bobcats won three singles matches and one double match to claim the victory. In single play, Rabea Hartmann defeating Erika Iriarte 6-2, 6-1 in a No. 2 match. Lainy Chafitz won her No. 4 match 6-4, 6-4 over Megan Harless, and Jennifer Nowland won the No. 5 singles match 6-3, 6-4 over Gonzalez.
Texas State opened singles play with a 1-0 lead after The Islanders entered singles play with only five players.
Ali Guilda and Mackenzie Farmer also won the No. 3 doubles match to clinch the victory for the Bobcats.
The Islanders won the double point with Nina Ciric and Megan Harless downing Andrea Giraldo and Hartmann 9-7 in at the No. 1 spot, and Erika Iriarte and Alexandra Dyckman beating Ashley Ellis and Chafitz 8-6 victory at No. 2 doubles.
