It was a fitting end for Texas State seniors Brent Holder, Matt Fullenwider and Brandon Thomas as they combined for 39 points to lead the Texas State to a 97-86 victory over Texas-Arlington at Strahan Coliseum Saturday afternoon in the Bobcats' final game of the 2007-08 season.

Holder led the Bobcats with 20 points, while Fullenwider added 11 points and Thomas chipped in with eight points and two steals while playing the final game of their collegiate careers.

"It is pretty special for them to go out with a victory in their final game," Texas State head coach Doug Davalos. "I really appreciate what they have meant to our program and I am proud that they were able to go out on a winning note."

Holder began the game scoring 15 points in the first half as he nailed four of his seven three-point shots and made all three of his free throws to help the Bobcats tie the score at 49-49.

In the first four minutes of the second half, UTA opened up a 55-51 lead, but Texas State outscored the Mavericks 46-31 the rest of the way to pull out the victory.

In addition to Holder's game-high 20 points, Brandon Bush came off the bench to net 15. while Brent Benson added nine.

Texas-Arlington was led by reserve center Anthony Vereen, who also scored 20 points. Rog'er Guignard also netted 15 points, Larry Posey scored 14 and Rod Epps added 11 for the Mavericks who fell to 18-11 overall and 7-9 in the Southland Conference.

Texas State improves its record to 13-16 overall and the Bobcats finished their season with a 6-10 Southland Conference record.
