Rabea Hartmann defeated Rebecca Miller 6-1, 6-3 for her first win of the season in the No. 2 position while also teaming with Mackenzie Farmer to win the third doubles match 8-3 as Texas State swept Central Arkansas 7-0 on Sunday at the Bobcat Tennis Complex to improve to 3-4 on the year.
Andrea Giraldo and Lainy Chafitz won an 8-5 decision in the top doubles pairing while Ali Gulida and Sumarie Muller completed the sweep for the doubles point with an 8-6 win in the second pairing.
Texas State and UCA then moved to singles play, where Giraldo bested Petra Keilova 6-2, 6-2 in the No. 1 match up before Hartmann gave the Bobcats a 3-0 advantage after her win.
Ashley Ellis sealed a win for Texas State with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Heidi Miller in Ellis' first match in the No. 3 spot in the singles order.
The Bobcats kept up their pace even after clinching as Chafitz won the No. 4 spot 6-4, 6-1 and Gulida took the point in the No. 5 match up with a 6-1, 6-0 victory. Muller completed the sweep at No. 6, besting Lindsey Short 6-0, 6-2.
Texas State will now hit the road for the next six matches, including four non-conference dates. After weekend match-ups at Lamar and McNeese State, the Bobcats head to California for three matches before concluding the road swing at Rice on March 22.
