Feb. 2, 2008

COLLEGE STATION - Texas State women's tennis continued its non-conference schedule at No. 25 Texas A&M on Saturday, dropping a 7-0 decision to the Aggies in College Station.

The Bobcats fell behind early by getting swept in the doubles point before the Aggies took points at the No. 4 and No. 1 slots to go up 3-0 for the match.

Ashley Ellis and Lainy Chafitz tried to rally Texas State, but each one dropped setes by scores of 6-1 and 6-3 to clinch a season-opening win for Texas A&M.

Jennifer Noland fought hard despite the overall outcome of the match being decided in the day's final pairing, taking game one from Texas A&M's Christina Amo 6-2. Amo was able to rally back for a 6-4 win in the second set before winning the tie-breaker 10-1.

Texas State returns to action February 16 at Texas-Pan American.
