WACO -
Texas State was outshot 25-2 and allowed two goals in each half as the Bobcat soccer team dropped its first road game of the season 4-0 at Baylor on Sunday.
Christina Racanelli and Britney Curry each recorded a shot on goal, but were denied by Baylor goalkeepers Ashley Noah and Gianna Quintana. Texas State also split time in net between two goalies, with Mandi Mawyer and Amanda Byrd each making three saves.
The Bears jumped out to an early lead when Betsy Kyle found Amanda McGrath for the game's first goal in only the fourth minute of action. McGrath would be in on Baylor's next goal in the 38th minute, this time assisting Lindsey Johnson and giving Baylor a 2-0 half time lead.
Jessica Hutton doubled the Bobcat deficit by scoring in the 78th minute on an unassisted goal before finding Lotto Smith for the fourth and final goal of the game 30 seconds later.
Texas State now returns home to prepare for another Big 12 opponent, as Texas Tech comes to San Marcos for a 7 p.m. kickoff on Wednesday.
