Texas Cup Results

Texas State struggled on in the closing holes Tuesday and did not make up any ground on the field, settling for fifth place at the Texas Cup at the University of Texas Golf Club.
New Orleans won a playoff against Texas-Arlington to capture the team title with a two-round score of 582. Texas was third with a 591 and the College of Charleston was fourth with a score of 598. The Bobcats shot a two-round score of 603.
UNO's Ken Looper shot a two-round score of 139 on the par-71, 7389-yard course to capture individual medalist honors. Texas' Bobby Hudson was second with a score of 142.
Texas State's top individual golfer was Andrew Bryant who shot a two-round score of 147, five-over par. Bryant finished in a tie for 11th with Texas-Arlington's Bobby Massa.
The Bobcats' Philip Krebsbach and Michael Carnes both shot second-round scores of 76 and finished in a tie for 21st with five other golfers at +9 (151).
Texas State is back in action Oct. 1-2 when the squad travels to the UTA/Waterchase Invitational in Fort Worth.
