Texas Cup Day 1 Results

Texas State's Andrew Bryant shot a three-over par 74 Monday to put himself in a five-way tie for 10th at the midway point of the Texas Cup.
Bryant was one-under (34) at the turn before a 40 on the back nine. Last week the Graham native finished in a tie for fourth at the Cobb/Ferrell Mean Green Classic.
Bryant's score Monday helped the Bobcats to fifth place in the team scoring after one round. The Bobcats shhot a 303 as a team and are seven strokes back of Texas-Arlington who shot a 296 Monday to lead the 11-team field. New Orleans is second after shooting a 298 while Texas and the College of Charleston are tied for third with 300 scores on the par-71, 7389-yard course.
Also in the top 20 after Monday's play was Texas State's Philip Krebsbach and Michael Carnes who are part of a nine-player logjam in a tie for 13th with first round scores of 75.
Texas State will be in the early flight on Tuesday, with its first player teeing off from Hole No. 1 at 7:15 a.m. The Bobcats will play Tuesday with College of Charleston and Northern Iowa, which shot a 305 on Monday.
