Texas State closed a three-match road swing Friday with a 5-0 loss at North Texas.
The Bobcats managed just four shots and only one on goal in suffering their fifth shutout loss of the season. Texas State, now 0-6, returns home Sunday to take on UTEP at 1 p.m.
With the win, North Texas improved to 6-0 and plays host to Grambling State on Sunday.
North Texas freshmen Janaye Woods and Linsday Lackore along with senior Heather Hutyra combined for 10 points in the win. Woods had two goals, Lackore notched a goal and Hutyra had a goal and two assists.
It only took 37 seconds for North Texas to score first as Woods buried a goal on a deflection of a pass by Hutyra. Woods scored her second goal of the night in the 36th minute of play from 10 yards out to make the score 2-0. The Mean Green added one more goal before the break as Christie Stewart headed a ball past Bobcat goalkeeper Mandi Mawyer in the 41st minute of play.
North Texas added two more goals in the second half.
