SAN ANTONIO -
Andrea Giraldo rebounded from a first-set loss to post a 4-6, 6-1, 6-1 win over Northwestern State's Catalina Villegas and help lead Texas State to a 4-2 win over the Lady Demons Thursday.
The venue for the match moved from Natchitoches, La., where last Saturday both teams were ahead in three singles matches when rains called the Southland Conference dual. With the Demons playing in south Texas this week, the match picked up in San Antonio.
Giraldo's play after a 6-4 loss in her opening set at No. 2 singles was a difference maker.
Lainy Chafitz, Rabea Hartmann and Ali Gulida all won straight set matches in the victory as the Bobcats won their fourth straight in Southland Conference play.
The threat of rain last Saturday in Natchitoches forced the match to be played singles first and with the dual decision decided no doubles were played Thursday.
Texas State is now 10-5 overall and 6-2 in Southland Conference matches. The Bobcats play host to Lamar Friday at 10 a.m.
Northwestern State was 8-9 and 4-6 in the SLC following the loss.
