Final Stats

BEAUMONT--Justin Fiske pitched another complete game for Texas State but it would not be enough as the Bobcats fall, 3-0. Fiske threw eight innings allowing seven hits, while striking out eight. Texas State falls to 14-5 in the SLC and 29-15 overall while Lamar improves to 15-4 in the conference and 28-17 overall.

The game went scoreless until Lamar got on the board thanks to a Brian Lloyd home run in the sixth. The Cardinals scored one more run in the sixth, taking a 2-0 lead.

Lamar scored their final run in the seventh and held the Bobcats for the win. The Bobcats had chances, leaving runners stranded on base in the first, third, seventh and eighth innings.

Texas State looks to bounce back in game two of the series which takes place on April 28 at 2:00 p.m.
