CONWAY, ARK.--Ty Harrington's Bobcats came out ready to play in game three of the series with Central Arkansas, scoring 20 runs off of 19 hits for a 20-10 win Sunday afternoon. Seniors David Wood and Aaron Garza led Texas State at the plate, both hitting home runs.

Texas State is now 14-4 in the Southland Conference and 29-13 overall. Central Arkansas falls to 6-12 in the SLC and 16-22 overall. The Bobcats forced the Bears to commit five errors and held them to 15 hits.

The high scoring action started right away, with both teams scoring in the first inning. Thomas Field scored one of his five runs in the first inning, giving the Bobcats a 1-0 lead. Field reached first on an error and advanced to second on a failed pickoff attempt. Wood, who had seven RBIs against the Bears, singled to score Field. Central Arkansas quickly answered back, scoring four runs.

Texas State scored seven runs in the second inning, putting them up 8-4. Laurn Randell, Jared Bunn and Ben Theriot would all score before Wood sent a ball sailing in right center for his first grand slam of the season, scoring Adam Witek, Field and Casey Guest.

Field and Witek scored again in the third, extending the lead to 10-4. Jonathon Ashworth and the Bears were able to score in the third inning, after Ashworth hit a three run homer out to left field, putting the Bobcats up 10-7.

Texas State added two runs in the seventh, four in the eighth and four in the ninth, with Garza's home run taking place in the ninth. Central Arkansas added three runs in the seventh inning.

Five pitchers threw for the Bobcats but Kyle Gembler gets the win and improves to 4-3. Gembler allowed nine hits, seven runs and struck out three in five innings. Matt Oakes struck out a game high four batters in 1.1 innings of work.

Field went three-for-six at the plate with three RBIs and scored five runs while Bunn scored three runs and went one-for-four. Wood had seven RBIs, scored one run and went three-for-five. The homer was his second the series with Central Arkansas and his eighth of the season. In addition to hitting his fourth home run of the season, Garza went two-for-six at the plate, scoring two runs.

Texas State hosts Baylor at Bobcat Field on April 24 before going back on the road to face conference opponent Lamar on April 27. First pitch against Baylor is slated for 6:30 p.m.
