Final Stats
Fresh off a 4-3 win over Nicholls State Sunday to wrap up the regular season, Texas State will open play at the Southland Conference Tennis Championship Friday in San Antonio.
The Bobcats' seed however has yet to be been determined as Lamar will take on Stephen F. Austin in a postponed match Tuesday night. That match will have a bearing on the tournament field. Texas State will either be the four of five seed during opening-round play Friday and will play an opponent to be determined at either 9:30 or 11:30 a.m.
On Sunday, the Bobcats came back from losing the doubles' point to take four of six singles matches and score a victory that moved their record to 11-6 overall and 7-3 in the Southland Conference. The team won five of their final six matches.
Against Nicholls, three Bobcat players won singles matches in straight sets while Andrea Giraldo's 1-6, 6-4, 6-1 victory at No. 2 proved to be the match-winner.
At No. 3, Texas State's Lainy Chafitz posted a 6-2, 6-2 win, Rabea Hartmann won at No. 4 6-1, 6-1 and at No. 6 Ali Gulida posted a 6-2, 6-0 victory.
