SAN MARCOS--Slowly but surely the Texas State Bobcats played their way to a 5-3 victory over Texas-Pan American. Jon Lieber led the way offensively going three-for-three at the plate and scoring one run in his second appearance for the year. Ty Harrington's Bobcats are now 24-11 overall and 10-2 and the Broncs fall to 13-26 on the season.

The Bobcats scattered out the scoring, picking up runs in the first, fifth, sixth and seventh innings. Thomas Field scored the first run of the night in the first inning. Field started things off with a double and advanced to third by a Laurn Randell sacrifice bunt. David Wood brought Field home with a hit to center field.

Texas State took a 3-0 lead in the fifth, after Pat Crumpton and Field scored again. Crumpton walked and moved to second when Field posted a fielder's choice. Both runners advanced on a Randell fly out and Crumpton scored off of a Wood ground out. An Aaron Garza single would score Field.

The Broncs tied it up in the sixth, scoring three runs.

The Bobcats took the lead back in the sixth, scoring one run. Lieber singled to right center and moved to second on a Ben Theriot sacrifice bunt. Crumpton grounded out to first, putting Lieber at third. Field hit a double, scoring Lieber.

Wood score the final run in the seventh and closer Eric Weaver and team held the Broncs in the ninth for the win.

Jason Baca (4-2) threw 2.2 innings for the win, allowing one hit, no runs and striking out five.
