ARLINGTON - Competing as an unattached athlete, Texas State's Kemuel Morales posted a second-place finish in the shot put at the Bobby Lane Arlington Invitational Saturday.

Morales registered a throw of 17.06 meters (55-11.75) which is a better performance than any Southland Conference athlete. Morales is red-shirting the outdoor season.

The Bobcats had several athletes post top-five finishes at the Texas-Arlington hosted meet.

Katie Hanie posted a fourth-place finish in the discus with a throw of 48.55 meters, Clayton Bynum was fifth in the 110 meter hurdles (15.01) and Robert Melin placed fifth in the men's discus with a mark of 51.47 meters.

Texas State returns to action this week when it sends a contingent to the Texas Relays.
