Texas State returned to play after almost a two-week layoff and defeated Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 6-1 Saturday.
With the win, Texas State improved to 7-5 and 3-2 in Southland Conference play. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi is now 3-10 and 1-4. The Bobcats continue a weekend homestand Sunday when they take on Texas-San Antonio at 12 p.m.
The Bobcats swept doubles play then won five of six singles matches. Two of the Bobcats' doubles teams posted 8-6 victories.
Lainy Chafitz and Rabea Hartmann defeated Carmen Abeaboeru and Erika Iriarte at No. 1 while Ashley Ellis and Andrea Giraldo won at No. 2 Alexander Dyckman and Nina Ciric.
Ellis also posted a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Abeaboeru at No. 1 singles while Giraldo beat Iriarte 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2 singles.
The Bobcats also won three other singles sets.
Hartmann defeated Dyckman 6-1, 6-0. Sumarie Muller posted a 6-3, 6-2 win over Alexandra Valarezo. Ali Gulida posted a 6-4, 6-4 win over Brahim at No. 6 singles for the Bobcats.
