Texas State goalkeepers Amanda Byrd and Mandi Mayer combined for Texas State's second shutout in three days as the Bobcats defeated Nicholls State 4-0 on the road Sunday.
Byrd was also between the pipes Friday afternoon for a double-overtime, scoreless tie at Southeastern Louisiana. The freshman from San Antonio was also the Bobcats' goalkeeper in its previous match, a 4-0 win over Houston in late September. Combined, she has not given up a goal in the last 245 minutes of play.
With the win on Sunday, Texas State improved to 2-8-2 and 1-0-1 in Southland Conference play. The Bobcats return home to play host to Sam Houston State on Friday night. Nicholls State is now 1-11-1 and 0-2.
Texas State's Britney Curry and Lindsay Tippit each scored two goals in the Bobcats' win.
The Bobcats had a season-high 26 shots, including 17 on goal in the match. Curry scored Texas State's opening goal at the 18:56 mark.
Tippit added a pair of goals in the first half including one off an assist by Andrea Seledee. Curry had another goal in the second half.
Byrd did not have to make a save in the first half while Mayer came on in the second period and stopped both shots she faced.
