Texas State used a walk-off home run in the bottom of the seventh from senior Katie Ann Trahan, to finish off the series sweep of Sam Houston 4-1 on Thursday afternoon at Bobcat Field.
The Bobcats and Bearkats were scoreless until the fourth inning, when consecutive errors from Sam Houston plated the Bobcats first run of the game.
Sam Houston State (10-15, 3-3) tied the game in the top of the fifth off back-to-back errors from Texas State.
They threatened again in the top of the seventh with the bases loaded and one away in the inning. Trahan worked out of the jam, striking out Sarah Parich and getting Kara Reeves to pop up to end the inning.
Trahan would strike again in the bottom of the seventh, this time on offense, when she sent a walk-off home run flying over the left field fence to win the game for Texas State.
Texas State (18-11, 5-1 Southland Conference) will head to Nacogdoches on Saturday to begin a three-game series against Stephen F. Austin.
