Bobcats Swept by Nationally-Ranked A&M

COLLEGE STATION - Nationally-ranked Texas A&M picked up its first win of the season, shutting out Texas State Saturday 7-0.

Texas State fell to 0-2 with the loss and returns home to play host to North Texas next Saturday at the Bobcat Tennis complex.

No. 34 Texas A&M had opened the year with consecutive losses before playing host to Texas State and Houston later in the day.

Playing at No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles, Texas State's Jana Cucciniello was part of a pair of tie-breaker sets on Saturday. After an opening 6-1 loss to Texas A&M's Seva Iwinski, Cucciniello took Iwinki to a tie-breaker before losing the second set 7-6. At No. 3 doubles, Cucciniello and Sumarie Muller suffered a 9-8 loss to Iwinski and Raquel Wagner.
