Texas State softball wrapped up its weekend with a defeat to Iowa State during the final day of the Crowne Plaza Classic at the Cougar Softball Complex.
A late rally, capped by two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning, led Iowa State to a 4-3 victory over Texas State at the University of Houston's Cougar Softball Field on Sunday morning.
Texas State (10-8) took a 3-2 lead into the bottom of the seventh, due to a three-run fourth inning.
Amy Hromadka's single down the right field line scored Katie Ann Trahan to tie the game at one. The Bobcats added two more runs in the inning, thanks to three Cyclone errors, to stretch the lead to 3-1 through four.
The lead wasn't enough, as Iowa State (3-6) rallied in the bottom of the seventh inning to plate two runs and complete the come-from-behind victory.
Sarah Lancour (5-5) picked up the loss for the Bobcats, allowing three runs off four hits in the final two innings.
Texas State lost its eighth game of the season on Sunday, the seventh time by one run.
After a 2-3 weekend in Houston, the Bobcats travel to Waco on Wednesday to take on No. 18 Baylor at Getterman Stadium. The doubleheader begins at 4 p.m.
