HOUSTON - Texas State dropped consecutive games for only the second time this season, as Wichita State shut down the Bobcats on offense to improve its record to 3-0 in the Crowne Plaza Classic.

Wichita State (7-4) played solid defense all game and held the Bobcats to one run and only one hit. Margo Pruis improved to 4-2 on the year, pitching five innings and striking out four.

The Bobcats lone run and hit came from senior Kristin Gunter, who doubled to left center in the second inning and scored three batters later on a bases loaded walk.

Texas State will be back in action Sunday at 9 a.m. when they take on Iowa State.
