Box Score

DENTON, Texas - Texas State (4-4) evened its season record Wednesday night after splitting a pair of games with North Texas. The Bobcats won the first game 2-0 on the heels of Katie Ann Trahan's one-hitter, but dropped the second game of the evening 0-2.

In the first game of the night, senior outfielder Amy Hromadka got the `Cats going early with a leadoff triple in the first inning. Three batters later Hromadka scored on Trahan's sacrifice fly to left field, giving the Bobcats a 1-0 lead.

Texas State added another run in the sixth on an Ashton Peters single to right field that scored Alex Newton and sealed the victory for the Bobcats, 2-0.

Trahan improved her record to 3-1, pitching a complete game shutout and only allowing one hit while striking out nine.

In the nightcap, North Texas used a two-run fourth to edge out the Bobcats and earn a two-game split.

Sarah Lancour (1-3) pitched the first four innings, giving up two runs on three hits. Despite her record, Lancour has pitched strong in the early season but the Bobcats have only managed six runs in her four appearances.

The Bobcats will be back on the road Feb. 17-19 to compete in the Troy Cox Invitational in Las Cruces, N.M. The `Cats will not play a home game until March 7 when they take on the College of Charleston at 4 p.m.
