SAN MARCOS - Texas State hit .379 and Lawrencia Brown notched 16 kills, as Texas State dispatched Southeastern Louisiana in three games Saturday (30-24, 30-14, 30-19).

The Bobcats (12-14, 8-4 SLC) earned their third-straight win in league play, while Southeastern (4-23, 0-12) extended its losing streak to 13 overall and 12 in the conference.

Amy Weigle added 11 kills to the attack, hitting .346 and posting 14.5 points, while Kacey Wimpy produced 16 digs to lead a back line that held the Lions to .160 hitting on 119 chances.

The `Cats used a 5-0 run to break a 5-5 tie in game one, but the 10-5 lead was erased when Southestern went on a 6-2 spurt to get within one at 12-11.

Weigle broke a 17-all tie with a kill to put Texas State up 18-17, and after Melissa Jones put the Lions within one with a kill at 25-24, Texas State rolled off the last five points, including kills from Weigle, Brown and Jessica Weynand that iced the 30-24 game-one win.

Southeastern battled to a one-point Bobcat lead (7-6) to start game two, but six-consecutive Texas State scores put the Bobcats up 13-6 as the game neared its midpoint. Weigle put Texas State up by 10 with a kill that made the score 20-10, which was part of a 10-1 Bobcat run that was capped by an Emily Jones kill that put Texas State on top 25-11.

The Bobcats earned a 2-0 lead in the match by outscoring Southeastern 5-3 over the final eight serves, as Weigle posted five kills in the game to help Texas State to the 30-14 win.

Weynand and Brown turned on the jets in game three, as Weynand finished with six kills in the game and seven in the match, while Brown posted seven of her match-high 16 in the final frame.

The Bobcats used a 6-0 run midway through game three to go up 19-10, and Brown ran the lead to double-digits with a kill that made the score 21-11. The Bobcats would go up by as many as 14 (26-12) before allowing SLU back into the game with a 4-0 run that cut the lead to 27-18.

Weynand posted a point to stop the run and put Texas State back up by ten, and Brown finished the game with back-to-back kills to claim a 30-19 win and a 3-0 decision in the match.

Southeastern was held without a double-digit scorer in the match, as Jones and Brittany Pomes each scored a team-high 8.5 points. Brown finished the match for Texas State with a .542 attack percentage, leading seven `Cats above .300, three of which it over .400 in the win.

Texas State plays its final two home matches of the season next week, hosting Sam Houston State Wednesday at 4 p.m. before taking on Stephen F. Austin on Saturday, which represents Senior Day at Strahan Coliseum.
